Three Romances (Drei Romanzen) Op.32
Dutch composer Julius Röntgen (1855-1932) wrote his Three Romances (Drei Romanzen) Op.32 in 1904. As far as I know, the comoser was not related to the famous scientist Wilhelm Röntgen.
Julies was the l;ife-long best friend of Edvard Grieg, and both men were close friends with Percy Grainger.
These three romances show the influence of Brahms. The first is chorale-like, the second has a sinuous sway[물결모양], the third is stormy and passionate. This is a difficult piece, so my recording has a few ragged edges and insufficient dynamics, but I hope you can enjoy. I recorded these last sunday, on january 27, 2019.
