Johann Joachim Quantz.

(30 January 1697 – 12 July 1773)

was a German flutist, flute maker and composer. He composed hundreds of flute sonatas

and concertos, and wrote On Playing the Flute, a treatise on flute performance.

[플루트에 관한 중요한 논문을 남겼고, 이 악기를 개량했다. 어려서 더블베이스를 연주했고 삼촌이 그를 메르제부르크로 데리고 가서 음악교육을 받게 했다. 하프시코드와 바이올린을 배웠고, 라데베르크와 드레스덴에서 연주자 자리를 얻었으며, 1717년 빈에서 얀 디스마스 젤렝카와 요한 푹스에게 대위법을 배웠다.

1718년 폴란드 궁정예배당의 오보에 연주자가 되었고 그무렵 플루트를 연주하기 시작했다. 1728년 프로이센 황태자(뒤에 프리드리히 대왕이 됨)의 플루트 선생이 되었고, 1740년 황태자가 왕위에 오르자 그 이듬해 베를린에 정착해 왕실 연주자 겸 작곡가로 일하게 되었다. 프리드리히 대왕을 위해 300여 곡의 협주곡과 200여 곡의 플루트곡을 작곡했으며 가곡도 작곡했다.

플루트 연주법에 관한 그의 논서 〈플루트 연주법 시론 Versuch einer Anweisung die Flöte traversiere zu spielen〉(1752, 독일어 3판 1953, 이후 여러 차례 재판됨)에는 18세기 플루트 연주의 실제와 장식음 기법 등에 대한 소중한 정보들이 기록되어 있다. 그는 또한 플루트에 제2번 키를 추가했고 슬라이드를 고안했다. 자서전도 저술했다.[다음백과]
