Sergei Mikhailovich Lyapunov (or Liapunov; Russian: Серге́й Миха́йлович Ляпуно́в, Russian pronunciation: [sʲɪrˈɡʲej mʲɪˈxajləvʲɪtɕ lʲɪpʊˈnof]; 30 November [O.S. 18 November] 1859 – 8 November 1924) was a Russian composer and pianist.

Sextet for Piano and String Quintet Op 63

I - 0:00 - Allegro Maestroso
II - 10:44 - Scherzo
III - 15:51 - Nocturne
IV - 28:10 - Finale - Allegro Risoluto

The performance is by the Dante Quartet - https://dantequartet.org/

Sergei Lyapunov, I have found, was a very competent composer who composed very competent music. He did, however, have the capacity to leap far beyond competence and allow his true brilliance to shine. This composition, composed in 1915 and published in 1926, is one of those examples.

As usual, there is another version of this sextet on youtube, but it is broken into 5 (!) parts. Because of this, I uploaded the whole thing here for easier listening.
