Jan Ladislav Dusík
Engraved portrait of Dussek, published in 1867
(1760-1812) is one of the most remarkable performers and personalities of Czech music history. Next to Clementi and Cramer he was one of the most famous pianists of his day and his performances were given from London to St. Petersburg.

Dusík wrote Concerto for two pianos and orcehstra in B-flat major at the same time that Beethoven was writting his fourth concerto., widely considered to be a prototype of the romantic element in Beethoven's work. It would be no exaggeretion, however, to state that Dusík took an even more decisive step towards he new style in this concerto (Vít Roubíček).
