Viktor Kosenko
(23 November [O.S. 11 November] 1896 – 3 October 1938)
Ukrainian composer, concert pianist, and educator born in Saint Petersburg. Regarded by his contemporaries as a master of lyricism, his first compositions were markedly influenced by the works of composers such as Alexander Scriabin, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff,[1] and his
compatriot Mykola Lysenko.
Piano Concerto in C minor (1928)
1- Allegro (19.40)
2- Andante con moto (10.33)
3- Allegro moderato (11.39)
The piano concerto was written in three movements by the composer, but during World War II some of his notes were lost, remaining intact only the first movement. The second and third movements were saved only in small details to be later finished by composers Levko Revutsky and Georgiy Maiboroda in 1937, although some sources also mention the name of Anatoly Kolomiyts (Kolomiyets).
