Johann Wilhelm Wilms

(1772  – 1847/ 영조 48년-헌종 12년, 75세) was a Dutch-German composer, best known for setting

the poem Wien Neêrlands Bloed to music,[1] which served as the Dutch national anthem from 1815

to 1932( 독일 출신 네덜란드 작곡가. 1825년부터 1932년까지 네덜란드 국가로 쓰인 음악을 시 'Wien Neêrlands Bloed '에 곡을 붙혀 만든 것으로 가장 알려져 있다.

Wilms was born in Solingen, Germany and moved to Amsterdam when he was 19 years old, where he lived and worked for the rest of his life. He gave the Dutch premieres of Mozart and Beethoven piano concertos., played the flute in 2 orchestras, was the organist for 23 years at the Mennonite Church, taught piano at the Koninklijk Nederlandsch Instituut voor Wetenschappen, interviewed applicants for church organist positions, judged composition competitions and wrote for the Allgemeine musikalische Zeitung, a publication he once used as a soapbox to complain about the lack of performance of music by contemporary Dutch composers like himself.
